The merger operation between Impregilo and Salini starts today, which will give life to the national construction champion and one of the very first European groups in the sector. The two boards of directors will establish the terms of the integration and probably also the share swaps. In September the assemblies will ratify the merger.
After the victorious takeover of Impregilo, it was Pietro Salini himself who strongly desired the merger as an essential step in the international development of the group which has very big ambitions and aims, also through local acquisitions, to climb the world rankings in the sector and double its turnover in three years.
Already today the two companies, which employ around 35 employees, are present in 60 countries, while the share of turnover deriving from the domestic market is down, which does not exceed 15% due to the modest Italian infrastructure program
