Production in the construction sector is down. According to Istat data, the index for October 2012 decreased in trend terms by 12,1%. On a monthly basis, however, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production increased by 2012% compared to September 1,9.
On average for the August-October quarter, the index recorded a decrease of 1,3% compared to the previous quarter. On average for the first ten months of the year, production decreased by 13,8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In October 2012, the raw index showed a tendential decrease of 5,7% compared to the same month of 2011. On average for the first ten months of the year, production decreased by 13,2% compared to the same period of the previous year .
