Costa Cruises leaves Genoa and will transfer 4 departments to Hamburg, Germany, employing 161 employees in Genoa. These are Marine operation, Medical department, Hotel maintenance, Technical procurement.

The announcement was made to the unions, who have already proclaimed a 4-hour strike for next Monday. The Carnival Maritime will be born in Hamburg, with the professionalism of Costa and Aida. Today CEO Michael Thamm will meet Costa workers. It is unclear how many of the 161 affected workers will have to go to Hamburg, how many will be relocated and how many will become redundant.
