“How digital changes our lives”: an ebook by Glauco Benigni for goWare

The investigation on the Net carried out by the journalist and mass media specialist Glauco Benigni continues. The third volume of the Web nostrum quadrilogy, published by goWare, which decodes the most complex and hidden aspects of the digital world arrives in online bookstores, in ebooks and print on demand: This is how digital changes our lives

The spread of digital technologies and above all the pervasiveness of the Web determine a series of paradoxical consequences and ambivalent changes that affect both the lifestyles of individual consumers and the public sphere of politics.

In some areas in which these two levels intertwine (governance, finance and contracts, mass media, work and social policies, the right to privacy and the confidentiality of personal data), delicate consequences of very significant significance are determined.

This dynamic often does not act explicitly, but masks its effects, thus acting behind the backs of the millions of Internet users, explains Benigni.

Not becoming aware of these changes means not being able to predict the new economic and cultural scenarios that the digital age promises, and finally being overwhelmed by the storm of change.

In recent times however, those who have been able to interpret these phenomena and bend them to their advantage have learned to ride this storm. This is the case of the international finance lobby, which acts on the stock exchanges around the world and directs the work of the big banks on the global market.

However, the excessive financial power that has matured in the last decade, hand in hand with technological acceleration, has also meant a contraction of those social and human rights conquests that had engaged the entire last century.
