SCUDETTO RACE – Juve want to get their hands on the Scudetto but Fiorentina are looking for redemption

The bianconeri want to get to the mathematical conquest of the Scudetto as soon as possible (4 points to go) and try to forget the disappointments of the derby but tonight they have to contend against Fiorentina who defeated them in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-final and who will try to repeat the coup after the last showers

SCUDETTO RACE – Juve want to get their hands on the Scudetto but Fiorentina are looking for redemption

A championship in front of their fans. Probable scenario until a few days ago, suddenly complicated after Sunday's events. Following the throwing of a paper bomb towards a sector occupied by Turin fans, the Juventus people risk a major disqualification. Not tonight though, because the tight technical times prevented Tosel from sanctioning the match against Fiorentina. The sanction by the sports judge (practically certain) will thus only start from the next home match, that of Saturday 9 May against Cagliari. In short, we need to hurry if we want to celebrate the title with a full stadium. Juventus must try to concentrate only on the pitch and on a championship that hasn't finished yet.

This evening there will be a very delicate match, against a Fiorentina side looking for redemption and, in any case, always poisoned whenever they meet the bianconeri. “They will want to erase their last defeats – explained Allegri at the press conference. – They are a technical and difficult team to face, in fact they are doing very well in Europe. But we want the points we lack for the Scudetto." To date, calculations in hand, 4 more are needed, unless Lazio fail to win at home against Parma. In that case, it would be enough for the Lady to beat Fiorentina, to thus mathematically celebrate the 31st title in its history.

“We have to do our duty and then see what the others are doing – sighed Allegri. – I expect to see an intense team, both technically and in terms of intensity”. Everyone at Juve wishes it, because the latest performances have been rather subdued compared to the usual standards. The defeats against Parma and Turin have left a bad taste in the mouth: the games could have already been over, instead we will have to fight for a while longer. The feeling is that the Champions League is weighing heavily on the players' legs (and heads), even more now that the match against Real Madrid is approaching.

“The defeat in the derby does not reflect what we saw on the pitch – retorted the Juventus coach. – It's not true that we only think about Europe, we are focused on the championship and we want to win it as soon as possible”. This evening, after last Sunday's turnover, the typical Juve will be seen again almost entirely. Except for the unavailable Pogba and Bonucci (suspended), Allegri will be able to count on the full squad. The idea is to go back to 4-3-1-2: Buffon in goal, Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini and Evra in defense, Vidal, Pirlo and Marchisio in midfield, Pereyra in the trocar, Tevez and Morata in attack. Montella, back from three consecutive defeats that have significantly compromised the Viola standings, will attempt the coup (already successful in the Italian Cup) with a 3-5-2 in which Salah and Mario Gomez promise battle.
