The introduction of the 'blue dot' for businesses which provides for a reward mechanism for virtuous companies. As explained by the president of the National Anti-Corruption Authority Raffaele Cantone, the 'blue stamp' is not a real novelty but an already existing Antitrust instrument introduced in 2012. The novelty compared to two years ago relates to the approval of a new regulation governing this instrument.

Antitrust president Giovanni Pitruzzella wanted to clarify that "this instrument will not be mandatory but will reward those companies that operate in compliance with the law" as regards tenders and access to public funding. The goal, however, is to encourage the use of this tool which for Cantone should not only represent a source of pride for a company but a real advantage: "Those who will therefore be granted this 'blue dot' – explains Cantone – not only will he be able to boast a title but he will have concrete benefits”.
