Coronavirus: Johnson positive, the Ftse100 skids

The positivity to Covid-19 of the first European head of state, or former head of state, arrives, given that it was he who contracted the dreaded virus British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. It is therefore he, he who had most underestimated the health emergency (which in the meantime had even been taken seriously by Donald Trump) to be the first, so to speak, illustrious victim, even if the news had arrived in England in recent days of the positivity of Prince Charles. Johnson's positivity it has not left the financial markets indifferent either: after the news, panic broke out on the London stock exchange index, the Ftse100, which just before 13pm was already losing more than 4% and then closed with a drop of more than 5%.

Johnson he explained in a video on Twitter that he has mild symptoms and who has self-isolated at home, but will continue to work: “Thanks to technology, I will always be in contact with my collaborators and I will lead our battle against the coronavirus, in support of our wonderful public health. This is the way: stop the contagion!” wrote the British premier. But the problem is that Johnson has been in close contact with everyone lately (and has even prided himself on shaking hands regularly), from top ministers to his aides, hosted major meetings like Cobra, and held press conferences with Westminster parliamentary reporters.

Before Johnson's, around Europe and around the world however, there have been cases of politicians or their families involved. For example, the positivity of Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, one of the diehard deniers, was suspected for a long time (still today he has launched a video campaign inviting the country not to stop, but fortunately the local governors are acting more cautiously), a negative result various tests. In Canada, the wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is positive for Covid-19, while in Spain half the government was hit, even Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo, hospitalized, and some ministers, without symptoms, but not Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. In France, Culture Minister Frank Riester tested positive.
