Not even the world of food intends to stop due to the coronavirus emergency. And so the story and the wine tastings also continue online, using social channels. The idea was of Luca Balbiano, Piedmontese wine entrepreneur, which has decided to launch a challenge to producers, winemakers, sommeliers, influencers, but also to simple enthusiasts: to continue sharing the love for wine even from a distance, to tell the heritage that each bottle contains within itself, respecting the restrictions following the health emergency that Italy is facing due to the Coronavirus. The first direct social media, shouting the hashtag #UNSTAPPINHOME she left on Tuesday 10 March on Facebook and Instagram.
“What we are experiencing is a difficult moment for everyone. They are certainly, in their own way, 'historic' days that we will remember for a long time”, commented Luca Balbiano of Cantina Balbiano di Andezeno, historic producer of Freisa di Chieri DOC in the area. “We have a duty to stay at home, but also to keep our passions alive. This is why I came up with the idea of #STAPPATINCASA: a virtual meeting place to continue describe a wine in a few minutes and share it with those who #stay at home, talking about pairings, anecdotes or, simply, for the pleasure of being together in conviviality, albeit far away. I have been looking for a way to carry on my profession, encouraging compliance with the necessary restrictions that we all have to comply with at the moment" concludes Luca.
During the first live broadcast on March 10, Balbiano uncorked his sparkling Freisa di Chieri DOC. The initiative had an excellent social response and in just a few hours many enthusiasts joined. The appeal of Cantine Balbiano is that other realities from all over the peninsula also accept the social challenge of #STAPPATINCASA.
