Is shopping in the time of the coronavirus becoming a feat, between endless lines, sometimes empty shelves and more or less justified psychoses? No problem: in addition to the valuable handbook published on the Istituto Superiore di Sanità website (reminiscent of distancing, gloves and masks if possible, but also the advice to disinfect the packs as soon as you get home), apps have also arrived to limit the risks, frustration and waste of time caused by the endless queues at the entrance to the supermarkets.
One of them is WhereRow (also available in desktop version), evolution of the platform Dove, an application to share offers promoted by shops throughout the country. With the same technology, the creators of the project have thought of transforming the app if necessary, to allow users to know, in real time, the minutes (or even hours...) of waiting to enter the supermarket. Service, currently active only in Rome and usable for free, also depends on the contribution of the users, who with their reports from the field make it possible to refine the waiting estimates, also indicating how many people precede them in line.
In Milan (and throughout Lombardy), however, the app is already operational Filaindiana.it, conceived by Fulvio Bambusi and Andrea Torrone: similar use and operations, with the possibility of geolocating oneself and sending one's own contribution to perfect waiting estimates. A service, as specified by the site itself, non-profit and crowdsourced.
