The Government has closed all non-essential businesses in order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus in Italy – Here is the complete list of activities, services and shops that can remain open

Coronavirus, from tobacconists to supermarkets: guide to open shops

Supermarkets, pharmacies, tobacconists, newsagents, but also computer and IT equipment shops, hardware stores and gas stations, pet shops and laundries. With the new decree the government's grip has intensified, but they are not so few the commercial activities and services that will be able to remain open.

On the evening of March 11, the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, announced a new decree containing exceptional measures to combat the coronavirus. The measures will remain in force until March 25 and respect to the provision that came into force that same morning, provide for the closure of all commercial activities considered "non-essential". Two examples above all: bars and restaurants, which until yesterday were allowed to remain open from 6 to 18, will have to keep their shutters down from today. Clothing stores, hairdressers, beauticians and so on are also closed.

The announced tightening further tightens the anti-coronavirus defensive circle while leaving i essential services for citizens. Furthermore anyone who leaves the house, even on foot, will need to a self-certification which certifies the existence of "proven work needs, situations of necessity, health reasons and return to one's home, home or residence".

With this new decree, the Government hopes to be able to slow down the spread of the coronavirus which in our country has already exceeded 10 registered cases and which at an international level has prompted the World Health Organization to proclaim a "pandemic". However, the effects of these measures will not be visible immediately, but it will be necessary to wait about ten days.
