Two donations of 10 million euros arrive for the fight against the coronavirus: one from Silvio Berlusconi, the other of the Agnelli family.
The funds of the former premier have been made available to the Lombardy Region to implement the new 400-place intensive care unit at the Milan Fair (or possibly for other emergencies).
"Silvio Berlusconi takes the field and demonstrates, once again, that he loves his city and his country," Guido Bertolaso, new consultant to the Lombard governor, Attilio Fontana, told Adnkronos. The project to set up a hospital reserved for coronavirus patients at the Milan Fair was entrusted to Bertolaso, who is currently trying to find machinery and medical personnel.
The Agnelli family, on the other hand, donated 10 million euros to the Civil Protection Department and the La Stampa Foundation – Mirror of the Times, committed to responding to the needs of Turin and Piedmont.
Exor and its subsidiaries FCA, Ferrari and Cnh Industrial (to which Ermenegildo Zegna and Fondazione Pesenti have also been added) are buying from foreign suppliers 150 respirators and medical-sanitary material which will soon be airlifted to Italy.
Exor, FCA, Ferrari and CNH Industrial will also offer free scouting services to identify medical equipment on international markets and related customs services for rapid importation into Italy.
Finally, the long-term rental company Leasys (Fca Bank) makes available to the Italian Red Cross and other voluntary associations a fleet of vehicles for the distribution of food and medicines in Italian cities to the sick, the elderly and people in need of assistance.
These initiatives are in addition to the "DistantiMaUniti" fundraising promoted by Juventus and still ongoing on the gofundme platform, as well as the #restoascuola initiative promoted by the Agnelli Foundation together with the La Stampa Specchio dei Tempi Foundation and La Stampa to support distance learning in schools.
Tim also signed up for the solidarity competition, which through his Foundation donated 1 million euros, of which 250.000 euros each to these 4 entities: San Raffaele Hospital, Consortium for Health Research - CORIS, Spallanzani Hospital and National Cancer Institute IRCCS “G. Pascale".
