North Korea: Europe under fire too

North Korean missiles may be able to reach Europe "sooner than expected". The alarm was raised by the French Minister of Defense, Florence Parly, during an intervention before the military in Toulon.

"The scenario of an escalation to a major conflict cannot be dismissed," he said, adding: "Europe risks being within range of Kim Jong Un's missiles sooner than expected."

Russia also intervenes on the North Korean threat and condemns the new atomic test by North Korea. However, Vladimir Putin believes that the sanctions against Pyongyang are "useless and ineffective". Indeed, "a conflict could lead to a global catastrophe".
This is what the number one of the Kremlin declared after the summit of the BRICS countries which closes today in Xiamen in south-eastern China.

According to the Russian president, "insisting on military hysteria" to solve the problem is "nonsense, a dead end".
