Countdown to the Panettone World Cup. In Italy there are three pre-selections, one for each geographical area: South, North, Centre. Thirty participants will be admitted to each of the three selections, who will be evaluated by the technical jury with the aim of choosing the top 10 for each of the three events. Thus, 30 finalists from all over the country will be admitted to the Italian final , scheduled for January, in which the first 6 who will participate in the Lugano international competition, scheduled from 5 to 7 November 2021, will be decreed.

The Italian selections will take place in the following ways:

For the South, Saturday 31 October at the Francesco Cilea Theater (Piazza Italia, 89100 Reggio Calabria - RC). in collaboration with the Conpait association (Confederation of Italian Pastry Chefs); contact person the President of Conpait Maestro Angelo Musolino.

For the center, Saturday 14 November 2020 at Gustar, Training Center of the White Arts (Via Fonda di Sant'Agostino, 4 - Pistoia). The Centro selection is thanks to the collaboration of Gustar, Maestro Gastone Pecoraro's point of reference.

For the North, Saturday 21 November at Congusto – Gourmet Institute (Via Bernardo Davanzati, 15, 20158 Milan – MI). The organization of the Center selection with the collaboration of the Congusto Institute; contact person Maestro Riccardo Magni.

The registration form and the regulation can be downloaded directly from the site www.coppadelmondodelpanettone.ch. The registration form, completed and signed, must then be sent by 30 September 2020 to segreteria@coppadelmondodelpanettone.ch.

The selected ones will then be contacted directly by the organizing committee and invited to a video conference via the Zoom platform, during which all the necessary information for participation will be given. For information write to: segreteria@coppadelmondodelpanettone.ch.

The competition is open exclusively to professionals of the sector with proven experience operating on the Italian territory.

“Ours is an international event, which aims to compare world excellence in the preparation of panettone - says Giuseppe Piffaretti, patron of the Panettone World Cup - But we are aware of the Italian vocation for this product, which was born in Italy and is here that, in fact, there is a greater number of pastry chefs who are expertly dedicated to its preparation. For this reason we have decided to organize pre-selections only for Italy, in order to allow a greater number of pastry chefs to take part in the competition, however allowing the jurors to adequately taste the panettone, guaranteeing a careful evaluation that makes the right value of both the work of the pastry chefs and that of the jury. Seriousness and respect for this profession was the hallmark of our event and it is the reason why so many appreciated our event: we wish to continue in this direction".
