COOPERATION - The Agci, the third central coop, to the Government: "Renzi, decide but listen to us"

“Let's redesign Italy. Cooperation. The idea of a new society” was and is the theme of the AGCI congress, the secular center of the world of co-ops, underway in Rome and the president Rosario Altieri has in his introductory report, also heard by the Minister of Welfare and cooperator Giuliano Poletti, focused above all on three points.

The first concerns the way to face an epochal crisis such as the one Italy is experiencing: for Altieri our country cannot live on its laurels and must resolutely embark on the path of reforms.

The second point has directly affected the co-operative way of being: according to Altieri the co-ops have withstood the crisis better both in terms of production and the defense of employment but even they can no longer live on income by looking at the past and the unification project which involves the three historic centers (Lega Coop, Confcooperative and Agci) is the driving force behind change and the definitive overcoming of both ideological barriers and self-referentiality.

The third point addressed by the Altieri report was the most politically sensitive: the AGCI recognized great dynamism and the hope of really changing, especially after the triumphal electoral result in the European elections, but Italy also a challenge. "Dear Renzi - basically said the AGCI president - you decide but at least listen to us because the social representatives are in the area, they know it and can bring useful ideas to the table with the government, while the idea of a single man in command does not convince us ".

Minister Poletti replied to Altieri. “The Renzi government was born to change Italy and that's what it wants to do with all its might”.
