Overtaking Napoli: 3-1 to Bologna, Azzurri first

Nothing. For a month now, net of the break which helped to soften spirits a bit, not a Sunday has gone by without referee poisons. The match between Napoli and Juventus, which still sees Napoli ahead and leaders after the home success against Bologna, is being played out on the pitch but also on refereeing episodes, some of which remained doubtful even after being sifted by the Var.

So it was on Mertens' hands in Crotone, on Bernardeschi's (even more sensational) one in Cagliari, and on Mertens's goal, but in reality in that regular case, in Bergamo. And also this weekend leaves some subtle aftermath: Juventus benefits from two expulsions, severe but fair, on the Chievo Verona field, while Napoli in the end spreads against Bologna, even if the 2-1 goal, which gives the Sarri's men, arrives on a penalty that many have judged generous.

The classification, however, continues to say Napoli-Juventus: after 22 days the Neapolitans have 57 points, a truly phenomenal average that would propel them not far from 100 points, a real record for a club like Napoli, and immediately Juventus hooked up with 56 points, an even higher haul than last year at this point of the season, but which at least for now is not worth first place. Next day Juve hosts Sassuolo, while Napoli will face Benevento.
