FCA contract, negotiations restart: first tranche of 300 euros

The negotiations for the renewal of the FCA contract resume. The path interrupted last year in December restarts from the bonus system presented yesterday by Sergio Marchionne to the confederal trade unions Cisl and Uil and to metalworkers. We therefore start again from the new revolution that reconfigures the Group's salary policy, based on the participation of employees in the company's results. It starts again, in practice, from bonus of 1.400 euros for this year and the expectation is that today's meeting will give us the go-ahead for the payment of one first tranche of around 330 euros, on average, in the pay packet from next May.

In Turin, the union relations representatives of FCA and CNH met with delegations from Fim, Uilm, Fismic and Quadri. Fiom is not present, which did not sign the Fiat contract in 2011.

The numbers at stake

The plan presented by Sergio Marchionne puts heavy figures on the plate. It's about 600 million over the 2015-2018 plan, addressed to 48 car employees in Italy of Fiat Chrysler. A similar solution should also be adopted for employees of the components sector, while Magneti Marelli and CNH Industrial remain outside for now, for whom there are plans to study alternative systems.

The expected average bonuses they go from a minimum of 1.400 euros per year for 2015-16-17 and 2.800 for 2018, up to a maximum of 1.900 and 5 thousand euros for the same periods. The bonuses are linked to the production efficiency objectives and to the economic results planned by the company. However, if neither of the two objectives were achieved, there would still be aminimum disbursement of 300 euros.

The new remuneration system that allows employees to participate in the productivity, quality and profitability results of the company, including the Alfa and Maserati brands – Marchionne underlined yesterday – represents a step forward in industrial relations. The Uil secretary is also convinced of this Carmelo Barbagallo and the Cisl secretary Annamaria Furlan.

Negotiation

"Yesterday's announcement by Marchionne concerns the 48 workers of FCA - said the unions entering the Lingotto meeting - and therefore in today's negotiation the crux is to extend this new mechanism also to the workers of the components and CNH Industrial, who are behind in the Wcm system”, the one that aims to increase efficiency and productivity in the factory. “We need to find a way to channel the factories into the new system as well components and Cnh Industrial, a new way to link salaries to parameters of future objectives”, they added. While for Federico Bellono, regional secretary of the Fiom of Turin, “the risk is that Ferrari workers will take a lot of money and those most affected by the crisis in the automotive sector, on the other hand, will take nothing. There is no longer a system that guarantees wage increases for everyone”.
