In April, the number of activations of new employment contracts amounted to 756.926, while terminations reached 546.382. The balance is therefore positive by 210.544 contracts. This was communicated by the Ministry of Labour, reporting the first evidence obtained from the Compulsory Communications Information System.
In terms of activations, 171.515 were on permanent contracts, 475.273 on fixed-term contracts, 18.443 on apprenticeships, 38.632 on collaboration contracts and 53.063 classified under the heading "other". Also in April there were 35.883 transformations of fixed-term employment relationships into open-ended relationships, against 19.144 in the same period of 2014.
As regards terminations, 122.979 referred to permanent contracts, 328.148 to fixed-term contracts, 13.636 to apprenticeship contracts, 36.619 to collaborations and 45.000 to forms of work classified under the item "other".
There were 171.515 activations of new permanent contracts against 122.979 terminations with a positive balance of 48.536 permanent contracts.
