Contracts: agreement between Confindustria and trade unions

Confindustria and the trade unions have reached an agreement on the new contractual model and on the new industrial relations. The agreement was reached in the night, in Rome, at the end of the last round of negotiations between the number one of the industrialists, Vincenzo Boccia, and the general secretaries of CGIL, CISL and UIL: Susanna Camusso, Annamaria Furlan and Carmelo Barbagallo. However, the signature will arrive only on March 9, after the bodies of the three trade union organizations have given the go-ahead.

The text confirms two levels of bargaining: a national one and a corporate or territorial one. One of the most important innovations is the definition of the criteria for calculating salary increases. Furthermore, the overall economic treatment (Tec) and the minimum economic treatment (Tem) will be introduced. Another novelty is the definition for the first time of the measurement of representativeness also for companies.

“Tonight the confrontation between CGIL, CISL, UIL and Confindustria concluded – reads the joint press release of the social partners – regarding the contents and guidelines of industrial relations and collective bargaining. The final document relaunches the value of industrial relations. The text was shared by the three general secretaries of CGIL, CISL, UIL and by the president of Confindustria and will be submitted to the evaluation of the bodies of the three trade union organizations in the next few days. The agreement will be signed at the end of this verification on the afternoon of 9 March”.
