Fight against poverty: 11 million from the Cariplo and Vismara Foundation and the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund

Over 7 million euros for initiatives aimed at reducing the conditions of poverty and fragility of the most vulnerable people. The projects, which will start in 2023, were developed as part of an initiative conducted in collaboration with the community foundations activated and supported by the three institutions

Fight against poverty: 11 million from the Cariplo and Vismara Foundation and the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund

Cariplo Foundation, Peppino Vismara Foundation e Charity Fund di Intesa Sanpaolo have made available as well 11 million euro to start, in collaboration with the Community foundations, processes of co-planning for the fight against poverty in Lombardy and in the provinces of Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.

Helping families impoverished by economic crises

THEobiettivo of the three institutions is to provide coordinated responses to people's needs in difficulty. The projects developed in this shared design process aim at reduce people's vulnerability and families, with particular attention to families with minor children and those not yet supported by local services.
Le resources available of the co-planning are broken down as follows: 6,2 million from the Cariplo Foundation, 3,3 million from the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund and 1,65 million from the Peppino Vismara Foundation.
The Community Foundations have the task of soliciting the activation of the respective reference territories, taking care of intercepting local requests and aggregating public, private and private social subjects, with the aim of designing and implementing interventions calibrated on real needs of individuals and families.
The interventions deal with all the issues concerning economic poverty: food, work, housing.

The first tranche will consist of 22 projects

The first part of the initiative provides 22 selected projects guarantees contributions for over 7 million euros to the territories of Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Lodi, Mantua, Milan city, North Milan, Pavia, Sondrio, Ticino Olona and Varese, to support system interventions carried out by the networks of public and private social entities that each Community Foundation accompanied and coordinated the design phase.
In the provinces of Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, the emergence of networks and the development of projects to combat poverty took place within the framework of the tender “Territorial networks against poverty”. The call made it possible to select 5 projects that will be implemented in the two Piedmontese provinces that fall within the jurisdiction of the Cariplo Foundation, and that will benefit from total contributions of €399.000 for the province of Novara and €453.000 for Verbano-Cusio-Ossola .

This is increasingly necessary to respond to the needs of people and communities, which express different problems that must be read and intercepted more and more "closely".
