The Chinese shopping of Made in Italy continues: the Berloni and Sergio Tacchini brands change sides

Two other Italian gems definitely end up in Chinese hands.

Le Berloni kitchens, historic brand that has been furnishing Italian homes for decades, become di properties of the tAiwanese of HcgAn obligatory step to ensure the survival of the company, now in composition with creditors. The Berloni family retains 6% and three seats on the Board, 44% goes to Intermedia, while 50% will be in the hands of the Hcg. “Now – said Berloni – I'm interested in the brand continuing to live and operate in Pesaro. If they want, I will remain honorary president of the company but let it be known that to save the company I put everything I had on the plate, including my houses. As a man and as an entrepreneur, my conscience is clear”.

The other symbol of the made in Italy that is going away definitively is the Sergio Tacchini brand. The creature of the tennis player who became a manager and then, covered in debt, left everything to the Chinese, will have to close the last flagship store in Gallarate on September 30th. The Chinese flag on Tacchini began flying in 2007 when Hembly International Holdings (one of the leading Asian clothing distribution groups) came to save the company. Then the entire company passed into the hands of the Chinese holding H4T and it was a historic operation because for the first time the Chinese bought an internationally renowned Italian brand. Tacchini will remain an icon of clothing but only the name will be Italian.
