Consultations: Grillo's first time at the Quirinale, but without surprises

The 5 Star Movement reiterates its closure to supporting any government, but asks for a full mandate from the Head of State – If a grillino does not receive the job, the M5S wants the presidency of Copasir and the Rai Supervisory Commission.

Consultations: Grillo's first time at the Quirinale, but without surprises

The 5 Star Movement has asked for a government post with full mandate from the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano. Alternatively, the presidency of Copasir and the Rai supervisory commission. This was stated by the group leaders of the Chamber and Senate, Roberta Lombardi and Vito Crimi, who after the consultations at the Quirinale read a written declaration and reiterated the twenty points of the grillino program. No statement, however, from Beppe Grillo, who withdrew from the meeting with journalists.

"If we have a full mandate as we asked, we will also name a name", Lombardi said again, who then underlined that although the Movement was the party "most voted by the voters", so far it has not been granted "any institutional representation" and the presidencies of the House and Senate have been "the subject of haggling and negotiation between parties".

The M5S continues to categorically exclude the possibility of supporting any government that includes traditional parties. Net closure even if the Executive were led by a third party.

Grillo had arrived early at the Quirinale, together with the M5S delegation which this morning opened the second (and last) day of consultations for the formation of the government.
