CBI Consortium: Giovanni Sabatini appointed vice president

The Board of Directors of CBI Scpa has designated John Sabatini as Vice President, to support Salvatore Maccarone and Liliana Fratini Passi who hold the roles of President and General Manager of the newly established Company.

CBI, already a Consortium since 2008 established and promoted by ABI e transformed into a joint-stock consortium company on 26 June, has been serving financial companies for over 20 years in the evolutionary frontier of the payments market, guaranteeing a timely response to individual service requests, even at an international level. In a context characterized by ever new innovative impulse, the transformation into CBI Scpa allows to further broaden the strategic vision to respond more effectively to the new challenges of the market.

In his new role, Giovanni Sabatini, who in the past held the position of President of the CBI Consortium, will support the President Salvatore Maccarone and the General Manager Liliana Fratini Passi in the development of advanced financial services, functional to the development of the digitization process necessary for the relaunch economy of the country and in the development of the CBI Globe platform which allows those who hold an online current account to make payments or obtain information on their account also through the use of apps of other banking and non-banking subjects, specifically authorized to operate in Italy , in line with the new European regulatory framework outlined by PSD2.

Giovanni Sabatini, General Manager of ABI since 2009, was elected Chairman of the Executive Committee of the European Banking Federation for the two-year period 2016-2017 and re-elected for the two-year period 2018-2019.
