Consob: possible anonymous complaints on the new website

From today it is possible to present exposed online to Consob anonymously. This is one of the main innovations available on the new institutional website of the Authority, which, after being completely redesigned, was presented today to the press by the President of the Commission Joseph Vegas and by the deputy general manager Giuseppe D'Agostino.

The new site of the Authority is divided into three portals: the first dedicated to news and regulations, the second to dialogue with market operators and the third to financial education. The latter, according to Vegas, "is the one that can offer a greater service to the generality of citizens", and especially to young people.

As far as anonymous complaints are concerned, the application has been in operation since today. According to D'Agostino, these are "signs of vigilance that increase the information set, but it will be a choice of the individual Consob divisions to open a proceeding or not".

With the new site, adds D'Agostino, Consob proceeds with the dematerialisation of documents: the presentation of information prospectuses by intermediaries can only take place in electronic format and in the future professional users "will be able to have a sort of profiling which will allow them, once logged in to the portal, to access only the applications of their interest”.

In the third portal of the site, dedicated to financial education, Consob focuses, among other things, on online financial scams, with the aim of showing savers how to protect themselves. The first caution, recalls D'Agostino, is to distrust those who offer a high return with zero risk.
