Consob against the excesses of speculation: stop for the whole of September of short selling

No short selling on bank and insurance securities until the end of September. As was foreseeable, the Consb, in agreement with other market Authorities and above all with the European Authority, has extended the prohibition of short selling expiring throughout the month of September.

Secondly, Consob has also extended the disclosure obligation for all other securities to 14 October: in essence, operators who practice short selling on non-financial stock exchange securities must notify the Market Authority.
Consob explained that the two measures are explained by the delicacy of the situation of the financial markets. Effective or not, the operation has the express purpose of cooling down the excesses of speculation.
