Consob has not yet received the draft EiTowers public tender offer prospectus su Rai Way, the company of the television towers of the public "media company" Rai.
The president of the Stock Exchange authority said so Joseph Vegas on the sidelines of a conference at the Abi. “No, we have not received the prospectus from Ei Towers,” Vegas said.
The company headed by Mediaset has time until March 16 to formalize its public purchase and exchange offer on Rai Way for a value of 1,22 billion. The government has repeatedly rejected the idea of divesting a majority stake in the public TV-controlled broadcasting tower company. And Mediaset has so far confirmed its approach tending to reach at least 66,7% of adhesions to declare the takeover bid accepted.
However, the fact that the prospectus of the purchase and exchange offer has not yet been presented, corroborates i rumors circulating on an ongoing attempt to reconcile the two positions in order to arrive at a single tower company that would be appreciated by the market. The attempt would be about the possibility of rebalance the odds of capital held by the two protagonists (Mediaset for Ei Towers and the Treasury for Rai-Rai Way) in the new post-merger company. Shares which however, according to the announced scheme, are highly unbalanced to the detriment of the public shareholder: 31% for Mediaset and 14% for Rai in the event that the public TV fully adheres to the offer.
