Consip, Lotti to prosecutors: "I reject the accusations"

The interrogation conducted by the magistrates of the Capital of the Minister of Sport, Luca Lotti, investigated in the context of the Consip procurement investigation, has concluded in Rome. In replying to the prosecutor's questions, Mario Palazzi, the minister allegedly denied being aware of the investigations underway into the public administration's purchasing center and, therefore, could not in any way reveal the circumstances surrounding the investigation. Lotti also claimed to "not associate" with the managing director of Consip, Luigi Marroni, who, having already been heard by the magistrates as a person informed of the facts, would have mentioned the minister's name. Lotti would have specified that he had seen Marroni, former councilor for health of the Tuscany Region, promoted by Renzi to head of Consip, "only twice in the last year".

Luca Lotti, former undersecretary to the Prime Minister with the Renzi government, is under investigation for disclosure of official secrecy and aiding and abetting. The proceeding is an excerpt from the investigation started in Naples on Consip tenders sent to Rome for territorial jurisdiction. The general commander of the Carabinieri, Tullio Del Sette, is also being investigated in the investigation.
