Councilor of the Treasury, she sold the government's fiscal secrets

He allegedly collected 220 thousand euros from the company he previously worked for, Ernst & Young, to reveal confidential information on the tax rules discussed by the Government

Between 2013 and 2015 he would have sold to the consulting firm Ernst & Young confidential information on the tax rules discussed by the Government, grossing approx 220mila euros. For this reason, the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has accused Susanna Masi, government adviser on tax matters since the end of 2012, of corruption and disclosure of official secrecy.

Corriere della Sera reveals that the investigation began three years ago and that Masi, before being appointed ministerial adviser by the Monti government, worked for Ernst & Young.

According to the magistrates, the accused has not only revealed news that should have remained secret, but she has also spoken out willing to suggest changes in tax rules that would benefit Ernst & Young and its clients.

Masi is then accused of false statements on personal qualities for having declared, after her ministerial appointment, that she has no conflicts of interest, not even potential ones. Instead, her prosecutors believe that she continued to receive money from her former employers.
