Parental leave and babysitter bonus 600 euros: Inps guide

Parental leave, permits under law 104, baby-sitting bonus for COVID-19 emergency: INPS has published a guide that explains, point by point, how to access the support measures provided for families and included in the Cura Italia decree.

"The Institute is completing the necessary activities to make the electronic procedures available to all interested parties to send applications for access to the envisaged treatments" specifies INPS which in the meantime provides all the useful information for accessing economic support.

The guide prepared by INPS is very detailed and indicates not only, for example, which parents are entitled to 15 days parental leave and under what conditions, but also specifies how the request should be made – to the employer or INPS depending on the case – which, however, currently only covers the period between 5 March and 3 April.

The decree - and consequently the INPS guide - distinguishes between parents who are private employees, or public employees or enrolled in the separate INPS management (read, self-employed workers).

It is important to remember that:

The aforementioned leave and permits are not usable:
✓ if the other parent is unemployed/non-working or with income support instruments

✓ if the alternative bonus for baby-sitting services has been requested.

It is possible to combine:

✓ within the same month, the COVID-19 leave with the days of paid leave by law 104 as extended by the Cura Italia decree (6 + 12 for March and April).

✓ within the same month, the COVID-19 leave with the extension of parental leave for children with severe disabilities.

The Inps guide also specifies how to access the new possibilities for i permits based on law 104 and how to request the babysitter bonus of 600 euros per family: who is entitled to it, under what conditions, and how the application should be presented (via the INPS website, patronage or a dedicated toll-free number).
