Confindustria-trade unions, perhaps agreement on contracts on Tuesday

The agreement on the contracts is getting closer and closer: it could arrive as early as next Tuesday. This was confirmed by the president of Confindustria, Emma Marcegaglia, at the end of today's meeting with the leaders of CGIL, CISL and UIL. In four days, the leader of Viale dell'Astronomia will meet again with the social partners and, "if possible", the long-awaited signing of the agreement will arrive. “There is no specific prejudgment from anyone on the issues brought to the table – explained Marcegaglia -. No one has arrived saying 'I'm not going further than here'. The meeting, therefore, was positive”. Everyone is aware that “the country is in a very difficult moment, with problems of competitiveness and employment. Each of us feels responsible, so the goal is to find an inter-confederation agreement. This first discussion was very positive”.

Tones relaxed also by the general secretary of the CGIL, Susanna Camusso: "We had a good discussion, useful, which allowed us to think about the possibility of an agreement on representation and bargaining". For the first time, Camusso said she was optimistic about the possibility of reaching an agreement on the bargaining, explaining that in the next few days "all the issues will be explored and perhaps an agreement will be reached". In any case, "the agreements are made when they are ready, not because the date is decided beforehand".

The leaders of Cisl and Uil, Raffaele Bonanni and Luigi Angeletti are also on the same wavelength. "It was a positive meeting - said the first - there were no preliminary rulings, an important step to quickly reach an agreement". For Angeletti, on the other hand, "the distances have reduced to such an extent as to make us prefigure a shared agreement".
