Confcommercio: record tax burden in Italy, GDP estimates cut

Italy is the country with the highest tax burden in the world. This is confirmed by the estimates of Confcommercio, according to which in 2013 in our country the tax burden reached, net of undeclared income (17,3%), 53,2%, a real world record. The apparent pressure, on the other hand, stood at 44,1%.

Bad news that does not stop, unfortunately, only on the fiscal front. In fact, the traders' association, as Confindustria and the IMF have also done, has cut the estimates on GDP growth for 2014: the Italian economy will grow by 0,3% against the 0,5% estimated in just two months does. According to Cofcommercio, GDP will grow in 2015 in 2015.

As far as consumption is concerned, however, the estimated growth for 2014 is 0,2%, an increase of one tenth of a point compared to the previous forecast. In this sense, the positive effect of the 80 euro bonus is felt. In 2015, the growth in consumption should reach 0,7%, even if the distrust effect could trigger some downward reactions.
