The darkest phase of the crisis has passed, but the weak recovery still does not allow consumption to grow.

Confcommercio: consumption still declining both on an annual and monthly basis

The latest estimate of the Icc indicator provided by Confcommercio signals a new drop in consumption in the month of September. On the basis of the August data, in fact, there is a decrease of 0,2%, while on an annual basis there is a decrease of 0,6%.

Commenting on the data, Confcommercio states that "These are dynamics that reflect the fragility of the current economic situation in which, although the most negative phase seems to have passed, the occasional hints of recovery fail to translate into a significant recovery in consumption which continues to record substantial stagnation.

Finally, the representative body of commercial companies underlines how the decrease in the CCI "comes from a drop of 0,4% in the demand for the component relating to services and from a stagnation in the component relating to goods".
