Christmas concert by the Cameristi della Scala: Sunday 3 January 2021 on Sky

Sunday 3 January at 21:10 CLASSIC HD (Sky, channel 136), in collaboration with INTESA SANPAOLO, broadcasts the Christmas Concert of the Cameristi della Scala, recorded in Milan at the Sanctuary of San Giuseppe.
The initiative is in the wake of the collaboration established some time ago between Intesa Sanpaolo and Classica HD for the enhancement and dissemination of initiatives aimed at promoting the best of opera and classical culture. Intesa Sanpaolo supports the main Italian opera houses, including La Scala, La Fenice, San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Regio in Torno, as well as numerous events such as the Rossini Opera Festival, PianoCity, Turin Jazz Festival.
The Christmas Concert of the Cameristi della Scala, promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo, it is directed by Giulio Prandi and sees the participation of the soprano Marie Lys. The program includes Baroque music that harmonizes well with the architecture of the church: from the seventeenth century by Giuseppe Torelli with the Concerto for trumpet and strings in D major (soloist Marco Toro), and by Arcangelo Corelli with Concerto grosso in G minor done for the Christmas Eve, in the eighteenth century of the Rejoice Greatly from Georg Friedrich Händel's Messiah and of the motet for soprano and strings Nulla in mundo pax sincera RV 630 by Antonio Vivaldi. A particular tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose motet for soprano and strings K143 Querere superna is performed, the first piece composed by the fourteen-year-old genius from Salzburg during his first stay in Milan in 1770.
The concert is preceded by an introduction by the musicologist Gaia Varon who, in addition to offering precious listening cues on the musical program, gives an overview of the architecture and artistic heritage of the Sanctuary of San Giuseppe: an authentic pearl of the Baroque Lombard.
The Concerto dei Cameristi della Scala will be repeated on Classica HD on 6, 8, 11, 14, 19 and 30 January.
