Conad lands in China with five points of sale distributed between the municipality of Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, after the experience made since 2010 in Hong Kong. The Italian products will begin to be marketed from 19 February 2015, the day of the Chinese New Year.
Conad's choice to enter the Chinese market is linked to some changes that have taken place in the country, where in the last ten years (the distribution sector was opened to foreign investors on 11 December 2004) supermarkets have become the most exploited commercial establishments by the population for the purchase of foodstuffs.
In addition to the shops, Conad will activate vending machines equipped with a wide selection of products, from which the Chinese will also be able to make purchases on the Internet.
"The management of the five points of sale and the vending machines has been entrusted to a local entrepreneur, also in order to better understand the trends of a market in constant, rapid transformation", specifies the group in a note.
