First meeting for the renewal of the company contract between the top management of Piaggio and the national secretariats of the Fim-Cisl Fiom-Cgil Uilm-Uil trade unions. The delegations of the RSU of Fim-Fiom-Uilm from the Pontedera, Scorzè, Noale and Mondello del Lario plants also took part in the work.
This is a real comparison at a national level involving the entire group and all the Italian plants on second-level bargaining. The unions were satisfied with the progress made, since it was the first time for a meeting of this kind, which "allowed to illustrate all the points of the Fim-Fiom-Uilm platform in a more complete manner, in particular on requests both relating to issues relating to industrial prospects and employment, and to those of improving the conditions of workers in terms of wages and regulations", underlines the union representatives in a joint note.
In the introduction, the company management highlighted a series of changes in the context which have affected the Group in recent years and which will weigh on the negotiation. Piaggio top management highlighted the strong contraction of the European two-wheeler market of about 30-35%, which led to defensive bargaining with the use of shock absorbers to safeguard employment levels in the company plants.
Next meeting scheduled for December 20, 2017 to provide timely answers on all the aspects present in the requests presented by the trade union organisations.
The trade union organizations reiterated the need to find, immediately, a contractual solution to the request present in the Platform to extend the health coverage of the Metasalute Fund to everyone by 1.1.2018, since these are much more advantageous and at zero cost for male and female workers , compared to the Unisalute policy of Piaggio and the health fund of Guzzi.
The company responded positively therefore, by 30.11.2017, it will be necessary for Piaggio to proceed with an agreement to cancel the Unisalute policy and for Guzzi to interrupt the internal cash register.
The Fim-Fiom-Uilm delegation positively judged this important first result of the negotiations that began with the Piaggio Group, as it will already bring numerous economic and health protection benefits from 1 January 2018.
