Compagnia San Paolo: three candidates in the running for the post-Chiamparino period

The former mayor of Turin, Sergio Chiamparino, will resign on 3 February from the presidency of Compagnia San Paolo, the main shareholder of Banca Intesa, to run for leadership of the Piedmont region after the scandal that ousted Northern League member Roberto Cota.

However, the dances for the succession to Chiamparino at the head of the Turin banking foundation have already begun. There are three candidates currently in the running: the first is the vice president of the Compagnia, Luca Remmert, the second is the former minister of education and university, Francesco Profumo, whom the mayor Piero Fassino especially likes, and the third is an expression of the powerful Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Paolo Montalenti, appreciated above all by those who have often opposed the Chiamparino presidency.

In the next few days the battle will come alive and will inevitably have repercussions on the Intesa group as well.
