we receive e we publish the following press release issued by Hera.
Il Hera Group designs the business model of the future e together with the trade unions launch the Good Work Pact, a broad, innovative and programmatic document, unprecedented in the panorama of the sector in Italy.
Founded on five pillars (health and safety; integrated supply chains and procurement; equity and inclusion; well-being, professional development and productivity; sustainability and shared value), the Good Work Pact was signed by the Hera Group, by the RSU Coordination of the Hera Group and by the National Secretariats and Regional of Filctem and FP Cgil, Femca, Fit and Flaei Cisl, Uiltec and Uiltrasporti Uil, Fiadel and Cisal Federenergia.
THEcommon commitment is to trace a path that combines corporate growth, sustainable development and collective well-being, with the aim of creating long-term value and generating a tangible positive impact for all stakeholders, starting with people and the territory, themes that have always been central to the multi-utility which already today has over 10.000 employees, a number that has been constantly increasing since 2002, with over 95% of permanent contracts.
The strategy of making people protagonists of change and the future of the company is also confirmed by the 2.600 assumptions in the four-year period 2024-2027, including the expected internalisations, with overall investments of 60 million euros on training and the development of new skills to face the next challenges.
The full convergence between the company and the workers, who ratified the document in the territorial assemblies called by the trade unions, was achieved for the first time around the corporate life purpose, the raison d'être of the Hera Group, so much so that in 2021 it was among the first companies in Italy to have made it explicit in its statute and is now among the first to include it in a programmatic agreement with the trade unions.
Furthermore, to give substance to the Pact's commitments, there is an absolute novelty: the performance bonus will also be calculated based on the multi-utility's ability to generate shared value, confirming an even more stringent commitment to ensure sustainable development and a just transition.
There are numerous new features contained in the Pact, including the commitment to support the parenthood, frail people, To caregiver, the valorization of different skills, investment for growth and well-being of the people of the Group, the fight against gender violence and promoting inclusion. The same document was drawn up using a inclusive language, ensuring its accessibility also in digital format to make it accessible to blind or visually impaired people who use screen readers.
The Good Work Pact represents a project open to the active involvement of all relevant stakeholders and has the ambition of representing a virtuous example on a national level.
Health & Safety
La security it is one of the founding principles of the Hera Group, since its birth, and the projects launched over the years, together with the positive results obtained (in 2023 the injury frequency index dropped to 9,66, the best value since 2016, the year in which the survey began, reaching values 39% lower than the average of the companies analyzed by the Utilitatis Foundation on behalf of Utilitalia in the 2023 Sustainability Report), are the starting point of the improvement initiatives, which will concern, among other things: the safety of people working on roads where there is heavy vehicular traffic; the computerization of the clothing and personal protective equipment management process; the exchange of experiences and simulations of all emergency situations, also in collaboration with institutions.
Most of the actions contained in the Good Work Pact concern culture and training, areas in which the Group's qualitative and quantitative standards are already particularly high. Hera therefore continues on the path already traced and undertakes to achieve over 2024 hours of training in the period 2027-400.000 and to invest only in this area about 20 million euro.
Integrated supply chains and procurement
Already in 2016, with the joint signature of the Procurement Protocol between the multi-utility and the trade union organisations, the Hera Group placed itself at the forefront on this issue and now confirms the innovative spirit with the desire to review the Protocol by 2024, improving it through the union discussion and seizing the opportunity introduced by the new legislation recently approved. The commitment concerns the clearer definition of the Social Clauses, starting with the publication of the new Protocol on the group's website. A system will then be defined qualification e selection of companies which rewards quality, security e ESG performance. New digital tools will be introduced for more effective management of on-site controls and audit activities will be carried out through inspection visits to construction sites and supplier offices.
Equity and inclusion
The values of equity and inclusion are expressed in the Good Work Pact with concrete actions that confirm and improve, with innovative choices, the path already traced by the Hera Group since its inception. In addition to enhancing people's involvement through moments of Participation e listening, to strengthen the sense of belonging to the Group, the Pact contains news on flexibility (for example the expansion of the possibility of smart working for the frail people and caregiver); parenthood (increase in permits in the period of the children's first year of age, recognition of further permits forinsertion into the nursery and to be present the first day of elementary school); valorization of different skills; promotion of inclusive language; fight against gender violence, with the establishment of the Bilateral Commission for Equal Opportunities as a further forum for monitoring and comparison.
Wellbeing, professional development and productivity
Investing in the well-being, development and motivation of Hera's people is essential for sustainable productivity and to determine the lasting success of the Company. The Good Work Pact introduces the increase up to 400 € from 2025 of flexible quota intended for all workers and provides investments to consolidate collaborations with the education system and the continuous learning of people for a total of 60 million euros. Furthermore, Hera is committed to making the use of 150 hours of study permit per year to all the people of the Group, also for master's degrees and advanced training courses not recognized by the MIUR. Permits also for those who undertake professional qualification courses, for example to obtain special licences.
Sustainability and shared value
The absolute novelty in the calculation of result award also on the Hera Group's ability to increase the shared value (in addition to the progressive annual increase of the bonus itself of 225 euros per year in the three-year period 2025-2027), is accompanied by a series of people development actions in terms of evolution of working methods, acceleration of the digitalisation of processes, valorisation with a view to sustainability and circularity. The substantial is included in this perspective hiring plan in the period 2024-2027 which it will cover 2.600 people, including expected internalisations.

The Good Work Pact is based on five pillars which are in line with our purpose: health and safety; integrated supply chains and procurement; equity and inclusion; well-being, professional development and productivity; sustainability and shared value. Within these areas, we make concrete commitments together, keeping the people of the Hera Group firmly at the centre. Our strategy of making people the real protagonists of change and the future of the company is also confirmed by the 2.600 hirings expected in the four-year period 2024-2027, including insourcing, and by overall investments of 60 million euros on training and the development of new skills to face the next challenges, of which a third in the field of safety.
