Northern League senator Giacomo Stucchi was elected president of Copasir, at the conclusion of the first meeting of the Committee. Stucchi got six votes. Vice president is Senator Giuseppe Esposito (PDL), while secretary is Felice Casson (PD).Stucchi has obtained the consent of Pd, Pdl, Lega and Civic Choice. Against the three exponents of the Movimento 5 Stelle, who supported the candidacy of the former group leader Vito Crimi, and the representative of SEL, Claudio Fava, who had been nominated by his party for the same position. 

The Apulian senator of the Left ecology and freedom Dario Stefàno was elected president of the junta by elections and the immunities of the Senate with 19 votes. The senator of the Movimento 5 Stelle, Mario Michele Giarrusso, obtained three votes and left the meeting, pointing out to journalists the absence of his group leader Vito Crimi. The latter, who arrived late at the council meeting, limited himself to explaining his absence from the vote on the president with a joke: “A catch happened”.
