Ettore Prandini is the new national president of Coldiretti. 46 years old, from Lombardy, he was unanimously elected by the Assembly of Delegates of all the Italian Regions gathered in Rome to choose the new leaders.

Prandini will replace Roberto Moncalvo at the helm of Coldiretti since 2011, whose presidency has reached the end of its mandate after seven years.

Prandini, who is the son of former minister Gianni who died last March, drives acattle farm dairy and also manages a winery in the Lugana DOC area. Since 2006 he has led Coldiretti of Brescia and since 2012 he has been at the top of Coldiretti Lombardia.

“In such an important moment with challenges and changes for our country – said the new president of Coldiretti – made in Italy agri-food it represents a certainty from which to start to grow the economy and employment but also to protect the environment, the territory and the safety of citizens".

We must give more to create the conditions for guaranteeing income for businesses by re-launching a system capable of offering fairer prices to production, less bureaucracy and greater competitiveness starting from a policy of free trade agreements that do not penalize our products internationally up to a community law for labeling of origin that guarantees true transparency and freedom of choice for consumers”, concluded Prandini.

The president will be joined by the new confederal council composed of the three vice presidents Nicola Bertinelli (Emilia Romagna) and David Granieri (Lazio) and Gennaro Masiello (Campania) as well as by Maria Letizia Gardoni (Marche), Francesco Ferreri (Sicily), Daniele Salvagno ( Veneto), Savino Muraglia (Puglia) and Roberto Moncalvo (Piedmont).
