Procurement Code: a conference in Rome to take stock

500 days after the birth of the new procurement code, there are still many implementing decrees that remain to be approved. This is a very delicate issue, on which 15% of public spending depends. Many criticisms have come in recent months not only from those who work with the public administration, but also from the economic system. According to many, the markedly anti-corruption twist of the new regulations, with the burden of procedures and administrative acts that suffocate public administrations, risks penalizing honest companies, without affecting those attributable to organized crime or gray areas of illegality.

All of this will be discussed today at the conference entitled "The public procurement code - A first budget in the light of the corrective", which will take place in Rome on Thursday 30 November at 15 pm at the headquarters of the Lazio TAR (via Flaminia 189).

"After the massacres of the 2012s, much has been done against organized crime, even if it is never enough, but the same has not been done against economic crime and corruption - says Giovanni Maria Flick, President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court - Until 2001 no prevention has been implemented and indeed steps have been taken backwards, for example when in XNUMX the crime of false accounting was eliminated, reintroduced only two years ago. Now, however, a turning point is taking place: I am thinking, for example, of the Anac, even if many, too many tasks have been assigned to it; I am thinking of the anti-mafia code, which took the patrimonial and economic dimension of organized crime head-on; I think of the procurement code. It is necessary to deal with these problems thoroughly because little has been done so far and in some sectors almost nothing, or for reasons of image”.
