Club Med, unions vote against Chinese takeover bid

There were eight votes against and only three in favour: the opinion of the unions is only advisory, but is absolutely required by law.

The tussle over Club Med continues. The French group's Business Committee, which brings together trade union representatives, voted by majority against the new takeover bid project launched by the Gaillon II consortium, the one controlled by the Chinese Fosun. The opinion of the unions is advisory only, but it is absolutely required by law.

“The members of the committee assumed their responsibilities and by majority voted against the takeover bid of Gallion II,” explained the delegate of the UNSA union, Michel Braquet. There were eight votes against and only three votes in favour.
