The home stretch is almost hereacquisition of Ita the part of Lufthansa. The meeting called to certify the official entry of the German company into the Italian company began at 15 pm and is still ongoing. The operation in fact includes Lufthansa's purchase of 41% of Ita.
The meeting is called for the closing of the transaction, but also for the Appointment of the new board of directors which will increase from 3 to 5 members. The deal was initially scheduled to close on Monday, but the parties decided to take a few extra days to finalize the details, first of all the choice of the new president.

After days of negotiations, there would finally be an agreement on the new governance: the president of the company will be Sandro Pappalardo, military aviation pilot, advisor to ENIT, the national tourism agency. Jörg Eberhart, current head of Strategy at Lufthansa, and former CEO of Air Dolomiti, will instead be appointed CEO.
Pappalardo and Eberhart will be joined by othersthe three members of the board of directors of Ita: two appointed by Italy, one appointed by Germany. At least two of the five will be women, as required by law.
