A Trieste a new path opens up for those who want to tackle one of the most current challenges: "the assessment of risks linked to climate change and correlations with the financial market". The University of Trieste has signed a 15-year agreement with Generali e ModeFinance, spin-off of the University and part of the group TeamSystem, to give life to this new professional figure.
The Climate and Financial Risk Modeling Expert
The project “Climate and Financial Risk Analysis in the Market Ecosystem” supports the new curriculum “Physics of Complex Systems, Climate and Finance” in the Master’s Degree in Physics, a unique path in Italy that integrates science, finance and climate change.
Thanks to this collaboration, the University of Trieste has planned the creation of a new chair and the financing of a PhD scholarship dedicated to the study of the "critical issues (market, finance, damages, floods, rainfall...) linked to the rapid evolution of the climate”. The Department of Physics, already equipped with a strategic chair, will welcome a professor responsible for training experts in climate and financial modeling.
Generali and ModeFinance will contribute to teaching with lessons and seminars, integrating theory and practice, and will actively participate in research projects together with other entities of Sistema Trieste, such as Harp fvg e ListSpa.
