STOCK EXCHANGE RANKING – Milan (+15,6% in 2015) remains at the top: in Europe only Dublin does better

Despite the market turbulence after the Chinese shocks, the FtseMib is the best stock market index in the main European markets: since the beginning of the year it has gained 15,6% – In Europe only Dublin (+21%) has done better – Milan clearly precedes London, Paris, Frankfurt and Zurich, not to mention Wall Street and the Nasdaq

It is no longer the absolute pink jersey but Piazza Affari remains at the top among the European stock exchanges even after the Chinese turbulence and the very strong volatility that have shaken the financial markets in the last two weeks.

Since the beginning of the year, the FtseMib, the Italian Stock Exchange index which represents the 40 main blue chips, has gained 15,6%: it is by far the best performance among the main European stock exchanges. Milan clearly surpasses London (-4,5%). Frankfurt (+5%), Paris (+10,12%), Zurich (-2,21%) and Madrid (+0,72%).

In Europe, only the Dublin Stock Exchange (+21%) has done better than Milan since the beginning of the year.

The sector that gave the most impetus to Piazza Affari in 2015 was that of construction and building materials (+71,9%), but the stock market performance of pharmaceutical companies was also very significant (+48,5 %), automotive (+33,7%), commercial banks (+29,16%) and telecommunications (+29,9%).
