In 2020, due to the pandemic, the Ftse Mib it lost 5,40%. However, at the end of March (during the first lockdown) the index lost 27,50%, so it is evident that "after the initial shock, investors have regained confidence in the financial markets, also thanks to the measures extraordinary fiscal and monetary policy". He writes it Assosim, the Association of Financial Market Intermediaries, in the report on the trading volumes of member companies in 2020. The analysis then shows that - in this scenario - the performance of the Ftse Italy Star, which last year even gained 14,10%, in sharp contrast with the rest of the market.

As regards the ranking of the shares elaborated by aggregating the volumes traded by the intermediaries associated on behalf of third parties on the MTA, Aim Italia and Equiduct, in first place is Finecobank, with a market share of 27,82%. Second Intesa Sanpaolo, with 12,14%. The bronze medal goes instead to Iwbank, at 9,21%.

In the ranking by number of operations, the podium is the same in the first two positions: Finecobank has a market share of 24,42%, while Intesa Sanpaolo reaches 14,70%. It follows Banca Akros with 8,93%.

As regards the bond classification - which takes into account the volumes traded DomesticMOT, EuroMOT, ExtraMOT, Eurotlx and Hi MTF - the first position is Banca Akros, with a market share of 21,02%. Second, again, Intesa Sanpaolo, with 17,49%. Closes the podium Invest Bank, at 11,82%.

Again on the bond market, the ranking by number of transactions is in the lead Intesa Sanpaolo (22,67% market share); they follow Banca Akros (19,39%) and Finecobank (10,21%).

“The total value of trades on the Borsa Italiana stock market, equal in absolute value to 605 billion euros, grew by 10,53% compared to 2019 – continues the report – while the number of contracts traded, equal to 88 million, it grew by 36,96%. The concentration of trading on the stock market managed by Borsa Italiana on Ftse Mib securities remained almost unchanged. In fact, the percentage of trades on the main index went from 89% in 2019 to 88,40% in 2020".
