Citylife presented the Generali tower in Milan?

The presentation ceremony of the Generali Tower and the Company logo on the top of the skyscraper designed by British architect Zaha Hadid took place this morning at CityLife. The building, once finished, will reach 170 meters in height. Armando Borghi, CEO of CityLife – 100% owned by the Generali Group – opened the meeting by welcoming the Mayor of Milan Giuliano Pisapia, the Chairman of Generali Gabriele Galateri and the Group CEO Mario Greco.

“CityLife was born ten years ago as a new way of thinking about the life of a neighborhood – said Gabriele Galateri, president of the Generali group -. It was an idea that Generali gradually appropriated, first as leader of a pool of investor partners, and then as sole responsible and owner of the project and its implementation”. The Chairman also added "that an insurance group also becomes a city builder should not be surprising, it is not just a matter of diversification, but of how a large global corporation must face the great challenges of the contemporary world, such as demographic trends, welfare, environmental sustainability and the changing urban fabric”.

Mario Greco, CEO of Generali, instead stated that “for the group, the management of real estate assets, which today are worth around 27 billion, represents a crucial lever of the asset management strategy. Within this strategy, CityLife represents a particularly successful example of urban development, an activity that Generali is carrying out not only in Milan, but also in La Defense in Paris and in the City of London. CityLife is the largest urban redevelopment project in Italy and one of the largest in the world. More than a city area we are talking about a new idea of life in the city, an urban model which, due to its innovative characteristics, could easily exist in any European city”.
