Cyprus and Greece deny their request for EU aid

Neither Greece nor Cyprus have so far asked for European financial intervention.

This was indicated today by the spokesman of the Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Olli Rehn, who reiterated that in Spain "state financing is guaranteed, so much so that tomorrow there will be a market auction".

Cyprus, however, remains a serious sufferer of the eurozone crisis, since, as stated by the governor of the Central Bank of Nicosia, Panicos Demetriades, there may soon be a need for EU intervention to recapitalize the Cyprus Popular Bank. with a deficit of 1,8 billion euros.
