Italy takes home 11 gold, 23 silver and 9 bronze medals. In some categories the Italians are unbeatable. All the winning master chocolatiers.

Artisan Chocolate: great affirmation of the Italian masters at the International Championships

Italian chocolatiers bring home an important result come on International Chocolate Championships just concluded where a Jury made up of international master chocolatiers, chefs, journalists, bloggers and chocolate specialists evaluated the universe of artisan chocolate from the five continents, rewarding the best for the various categories.

The virtual awards ceremony and the celebration of the awards held on Zoom saw the Italian medalist boast of  11 gold medals, 23 silver medals and 9 bronze medals.

In some sectors, our master artisan chocolatiers were even unbeatable, such as in the category "Walnut-based pralines with dark chocolate" where they stole all the medals without leaving room for other countries with Guido Castagna and Bodrato Chocolate, of Turin, Gardini of Forlì and Ugetti pastry shop of Bardonecchia, or in the category "Marzipan covered with dark chocolate" where Peter Macellaro  of the Pasticceria Agricola Cilentana di Piaggine (SA) won the only two medals, or, again, in the category "Whole nut confetti covered in dark chocolate", where Petit Fours, Bellantoni chocolate from Cittaducale e Choocomites of Malè (TN) won the only three medals awarded.

Exceptional result also for the category "Walnut-based pralines with combined chocolate" where Italy with Gardini, Petit Fours e Joseph Manilia of Montesano Scalo (SA) occupied the first five positions with gold and silver leaving a bronze to two competitors from Norway and the United States.

And again en plein for Italy in the category "Fruit covered in white chocolate" where Bellantoni of Cittaducale (RI) won gold, silver and bronze, or again in the category "Spreadables with dark chocolate" where Guido Gastagna  of Giaveno (TO) and Ugetti pastry shop di Bardonecchiasi were awarded silver and gold and in the category "Spreadables with milk chocolate" which saw Gardini only winner with gold medal.

Also worth mentioning is the excellent result in the category "Bars with dark chocolate with filling" that it saw Guido Gastagna of Turin to win the gold,  Fox yourself of Biandrate (Mi) the Silver and the Bronze. And, another great result was the first podium in the category "White chocolate bars with infusion or aroma" conquered by You in Milan  and the second of Aruntam Sensory Chocolate of San Giuliano Milanese (MI) who have left behind competitors from Estonia, Taiwan, Japan, Hungary, Canada and Taiwan.

Finally, the beautiful performance of the master chocolatier should be mentioned Frances Bertani of Porto Ferraio on the Island of Elba which in the Pralines category with "Mixed chocolates" with "Ansonica" won gold overcoming the two-time world champion "Aleatica" which became silver and repeated the world gold in the "Ganache" category flavored dark chocolates”, with the praline “Un tea con le tigri” which required two years of work and which combines Bertani's two great passions: chocolate and tea.
