Cinema: Ford against Ferrari this week on FIRST Arte

This weekend on FIRST Art we are talking about engines. Our film critic, Patrizio Rossano, has chosen for his usual weekly review “Le Mans' 66 - The big challenge”, directed by James Mangold and starring two Academy Award winners: Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

The film tells a true story, however incredible. Car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and British racing driver Ken Miles (Bale) work together and overcome a thousand obstacles to build a racing car. The client was the American car manufacturer Ford and the goal was the most ambitious of all: to compete with his majesty Ferrari, the undisputed dominus of racing at the time. Theater of the challenge, which takes place in 1966, is the circuit of Le Mans, in France, where the famous "24 Hours" race is held every year.
