Cinema, Avengers: Endgame is the film that has grossed the most in history

Avengers: Endgame is the highest grossing film in the history of cinema. Exactly three months after its presentation in Los Angeles, just when everyone thought it would no longer make it, the 22nd film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grabbed the first step of the podium until yesterday firmly occupied by Avatar, a 2009 film by James Cameron which, with a production budget of around $237 million, grossed $2,789.7 billion worldwide.

Avengers: Endgame day after day has instead reached altitude 2,790.2 billions of dollars, 30% of which cashed in the United States. In Italy, the film released on April 24, has exceeded 30 million dollars, doubling Aladdin (second with 15 million) and distancing Dumbo (third with 11 million). The overtaking of Endgame on Avatar was announced on July 20 by Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, during the Comic-Con in San Diego.

A huge result if we take into account the fact that there are only 2 other films to exceed the 3 billion takings in the history of cinema: Titanic, in third place with 2,187.5 billion in receipts, Star Wars - The Force Awakens, fourth with $2,068 billion grossed and Avengers - Infinity War, 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2,048 billion.

It should be emphasized that in the world top 10 of the films that have grossed the most in the history of cinema there are also three other masterpieces of the Marvel Universe: The Avengers (that of 2012, to be clear), seventh with 1,518 billion, Avengers: Age of Ultron, in ninth place with 1,405 billion, e Black Panther, tenth with 1,346 billion in receipts. Rounding out the top 10: Fast & Furious 7 (eighth, 1,516 billion) e Jurassic World (sixth, 1,671 billion).
