There are only six years left to overtake. In 2019 the balance of power between China and the United States will reverse and the Dragon will become there first economic power on the planet. But that's not all: in the following 30 years (expiring in 2049, coinciding coincidentally with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's Republic of China...), the Asian giant will definitively rise to the top of the world, becoming stronger than Washington even regard the "international position".
These predictions are reported in the “State of the Nation Report” compiled by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and published today by the Global Times. Unfortunately, the study does not specify the criteria used to formulate the estimates.
According to the Global Times, the "state of the nation" is defined by the "complex of all conditions ... using the self-sufficiency of resources and the distribution of wealth as the main criteria". In the report, China appears as the 11th "healthiest" country, just behind Costa Rica, in a ranking led by Sweden.
